BABE RUTH TEAMS DOMINATE WEEKEND PLAY

5 MAY 2019

The Great Falls Thunder (Senior Babe Ruth) and Outlaws 14U (Junior Babe Ruth) dominated play this weekend with both teams posting undefeated records.  The Thunder, competing in round robin action in Bonner compiled a 4-0 record while the Outlaws 14U competing in the Dust Off Days Invitational compiled a 3-0 record.

Scores and game information for the Thunder are unavailable at this time.

For the Great Falls Outlaws 14U (compiled of players aged 13 and 14) the biggest challenge of their 3 wins for the weekend came from the Miles City Outlaws, which was compiled of 8 players from their varsity team (15 year olds).  The Great Falls Outlaws would break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third inning by plating 3 runs.  Mason Davis would add to the GF Outlaws lead by hitting a solo home run over the center field fence in the bottom half of the fifth inning.  In the Top of the sixth inning the Miles City Outlaws would close the score at 5-4; however the GF Outlaws would answer back scoring a run in the bottom of the inning with Shane Jefferson as the lead off batter hitting a line-drive up the middle, with bases loaded and 1 out Mac Palmer would draw the walk to score Shane J.  Miles City would answer back in the top of the seventh with one run off of back-to-back doubles but would fall short as Logan Sloan would force a Miles City fly-out to left field and Evan Brown would make a game saving line drive snag for the second out; Logan Sloan would strike out the final batter for a final score of 6-5 Great Falls Outlaws.  Logan Sloan pitched a complete game allowing 10 hits, walking 3 and striking out 5.
